As part of the JABAL initiative, Fransabank and Alba present Meteorites
Designed especially for young graduates in the creative fields, the Météorites program offers you the opportunity to step into the art world by creating a work of art, benefiting from professional support for its development and production, and being part of a collective exhibition alongside professional artists.
The Météorites program is open to fresh graduates as well as graduates of the past 2 years from all ALBA schools and departments, and aims to produce artworks ranging between
visual arts, traditional media, photography, video art, digital media and installations, around a yearly theme.
The theme of each edition is proposed by the curators of the program and launched before the end of the academic year, with a selection of 4 artist-mentors who will guide the participants into developing their work, as well as take part in the final collective exhibition.
You have all summer to develop a project and submit your application and choice of mentor by mid-September. The selection committee will then select 8 projects/participants for each edition, and attribute 2 projects to each of the 4 mentors.
The program is divided into 3 phases: concept development / production / exhibition.
Concept phase: you will be guided by your mentor and the program coordinator over a period of 3 months into developing your idea through weekly sessions. The phase will end with a jury.
Production phase: you will receive a budget of up to 2,000$ and get support from a technical director and the program coordinator as well as access to facilities and tools on campus to produce your work over a period of 3 months.
Exhibition: the technical director and program coordinator will design the scenography of the exhibition including the participants’ and mentors’ projects and mount it.
This program is supported by the Adnan & Adel Kassar Foundation / Fransabank as part of their JABAL initiative.
