Training aims
Fashion design assumes a singular and innovative writing. It involves cultural, social, aesthetic and technical skills combined with the faculties of analysis, perception and communication.
It is based on the highlighting of the body through the use of volumes, images, colors and materials. It decomposes the notions of blur and tailor to investigate the intermediate creative spaces. Also it explores different facets of fashion as a form of contemporary universal expression.
In BA, general artistic and cultural training, as well as specialization courses in fashion design, ( implement fundamental learning.Through exercises, the student is led to work on concrete statements, to build a technical vocabulary, shape, color, cutting, sewing, manipulation and finishing of textiles, drawing silhouettes ( shapes) , and graphics Learners develop over the projects a style always more singular and unique .
It is also during the Bachelor's degree that learners acquire the notion of collection and performs two external internships in a fashion house or at a designer's house.
Learning outcomes
1. Collect, analyze and interpret data in a meaningful way, with a view to developing a coherent collection supported by a critical discourse that incorporates reflection on contemporary artistic, ethical and socio-economic issues.
2. Acquire knowledge and skills in fashion design based on research, experimentation and the study of theoretical and technical knowledge.
3. To master all the steps involved in the construction of a garment in terms of volumes, colors and materials.
4. To implement, articulate and develop in a singular way the knowledge and skills necessary to continue their training autonomously, or in a professional context.
5. Present a collection that is also validated outside the academic field, particularly in the artistic and professional world of fashion, and communicate about it according to the modalities adapted to the context.
6. To meet the specific constraints of the professional environment and to develop a critical reflection on the conditions of exercise of their future profession.
Graduation requirements
To obtain a diploma, applicants must have completed the total number of credits required (180 ECTS credits), and have a cumulative general average and a cumulated average of 10/20. In addition, it will be necessary to present a set number of models or designs as well as present a fashion show before a school jury, under the chairmanship of the delegate of the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education.
