Financial Aid
The office of Financial Aid, created in September 2014, offers counseling, guidance and financial support to students facing difficulties.
Furthermore, this office is dedicated to helping students deal with their personal, family or social issues.
Social workers meet with the students in private and all information is kept confidential.
Students can make an appointment.
Office hours are from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday.
Mission and Objectives
The office of social services is there to provide students with “care and support… for a better future.”
Mission
The main concern of the office of social services is to improve the students’ living and working conditions.
Objectives:
- Creating a secure environment where students feel they receive support for their personal, familial or social difficulties.
- Providing (after reviewing their file) financial support to students in need..
- Guiding students towards loan associations.
- Helping students integrate into the university environment.
Admission criteria:
Any candidate facing financial, personal, relational, familial or medical difficulties will be offered access to the office of social services, regardless of his or her background.
The Social Service's Function
The functions of the office of social services include :
Financial support :
Appropriate financial support will be provided to students since the first year after reviewing their file.
LOANS :
Any student facing economic difficulties could benefit from a loan from partner banks in order to facilitate tuition fees.
Staggered Payments :
Any student with financial problems may be able to make down payments as long as deadlines are met in accordance with the university timetable.
Guidance:
Guidance: Applicants will be referred to bank partners, foundations or associations that can provide assistance and help.
How to submit a request for aid :
Submitting a document for financial assistance requires:
1. Scheduling an interview with the social workers.
2. Filling out an application form available at the office of social services.
3. Opening a file and providing all required documents.
4. Having an interview with the social worker and submitting the file.
Once the above steps are completed, the social workers will:
5. Review each file and evaluate each case separately.
6. Inform the applicants of the outcome of the decision about the aid program to which they may have access.
Cancellation of financial assistance:
All services may be terminated in the case of:
- Falsification of documents
- Disciplinary actions taken against the student.
- Low academic performance
Individual intervention :
Social workers are key resource persons who provide assistance to every student in his or her day-to-day life.
Their role is to listen, help and support students in difficulty. They also play a mediating role in finding solutions for students’ personal, familial, or even social problems.
Social workers operate under the rules of professional privacy and with full respect for students’ needs.
